Happy App Studio develops Doku, a daily grid game. This policy explains what data is processed when you use the app or the website, why, and how long it is kept.
Playing without an account
The first time you play, a guest session is created: a random identifier, with no name or email address. It is used to save your games, your streak and your place in the leaderboards.
Account and sign-in
You can create an account with Google, with Apple or with a sign-in link sent by email. We then receive a unique identifier and, depending on the service and your settings, your name and email address. They are used to create and secure your account and to find it on your other devices. With « Sign in with Apple », you can hide your email address.
Profile, friends and leagues
For the social features, you choose a nickname that other players can see. You can follow friends and join leagues to compare your results. Your nickname, friends and leagues are stored to make these features work.
Game data
We store your games, answers, scores and statistics to sync your devices, build the leaderboards and compute the statistics of each grid. These community statistics are anonymous counters.
Sharing your result and the contest
A result link you share contains your share code, drawn at random, which reveals neither your name nor your nickname, and the name of the app you shared it with.
When someone else opens that link, we record the date, the app and that person's session identifier. This is used to award the contest ticket of the day and to count each person only once a day. These records are deleted after 90 days.
So that your own visits are not counted, an encrypted fingerprint of your network address is kept for 48 hours after each share. The address itself is never stored.
Your tickets and the results of the draws are kept for the duration of the contest and so that each draw can be proven. The nickname of the winner is published in the app, on the website and on Doku's social media.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store your device token and your preferences to let you know about friends, leagues and messages. You can turn them off at any time in the app or in your phone settings.
Messages and reports
When you report an answer or write to us from Doku, your message reaches us through our admin messaging (Telegram), with the context of the game and your nickname, so that we can reply and fix the game. Our replies arrive in Doku's inbox.
Advertising
The app may show ads through Google AdMob, which may collect certain identifiers from your device and usage information to serve ads. On iPhone, ad tracking depends on your permission. The website shows no ads. Google's policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Doku+ subscription
Payments are processed by Apple, by Google or, on the website, by Stripe, and subscriptions are managed with RevenueCat. Happy App Studio never receives or stores any payment data. RevenueCat's policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
Analytics and security
We use Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics to measure how Doku is used (pages viewed, games played, features used), with no advertising cookies on the website. Firebase App Check protects the service against abuse by checking that requests come from the app or a legitimate browser. App crash reports go through Firebase Crashlytics.
Hosting
Your account data is stored on the Firebase / Google Cloud infrastructure. The website is served by Vercel.
Retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen of the app or the website, or by writing to us. Your personal data is then erased, except anonymous statistics and what the law requires us to keep.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase and object to the processing of your data. To exercise these rights, write to hello@happyapp.studio. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL: https://www.cnil.fr
Minimum age
You must be at least 13 years old to use Doku, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
