How it works

How points work
The rarer your answer among players, the more it scores. An answer nobody thinks of is worth far more than the obvious one. Mistakes cost a few points, and finishing fast earns a bonus.

Frequently asked questions
Which prefecture counts when the city has changed?
The department's legal seat. For Val-d'Oise that is Pontoise, even though the offices are in Cergy.
Are the overseas departments included?
Yes. Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Réunion and Mayotte are among the 101, with a dedicated overseas criterion.
Is Geodoku France free?
Yes. Today's grid and free play are free to play in the browser, no account required. The Doku app is also available on iPhone and Android, with the same grids and the same progress.
