How it works

How points work
The rarer your answer among players, the more it scores. An answer nobody thinks of is worth far more than the obvious one. Mistakes cost a few points, and finishing fast earns a small bonus.

Frequently asked questions
- What are the regions based on?
- On the four Census Bureau regions: Northeast, Midwest, South and West. Maryland, Delaware and West Virginia are therefore in the South.
- Is Washington, D.C. an answer?
- No. Only the 50 states are on the list; the District of Columbia is not one of them.
- Is Geodoku United States free?
- Yes. Today's grid and free play are free to play in the browser, no account required. The Doku app is also available on iPhone and Android, with the same grids and the same progress.
